About Belarus-Turkey cooperation in water resources and meteorology
Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Sergei Khrushchev and Turkey’s Minister of Forest and Water Affairs Veysel Eroglu signed a declaration of intention on cooperation in water resources and a declaration of intention on cooperation in meteorology during the 9th meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish joint intergovernmental economic commission on 27 July 2017.
The declaration of intention on cooperation in water resources envisages the development of bilateral cooperation in such areas as the impact of climate change on water resources, the development and operation of water monitoring systems, water quality management, and water treatment technologies.
The declaration of intention on cooperation in meteorology provides for the development of bilateral cooperation in such areas as satellite and radar meteorology, numerical weather prediction, the installment, maintenance and use of meteorological systems, meteorological forecasts.
The implementation of the abovementioned documents will help Belarus study Turkey’s practices in water resources management and organization of meteorological work for the subsequent use of Turkey’s advanced technologies and knowledge in Belarus.
