Belarus maps out steps to foster ties with South Africa

MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection hosted a meeting to map out steps to bolster cooperation between Belarus and South Africa, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
Belarus’ Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Sergei Maslyak met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the Republic of South Africa and concurrently to the Republics of Botswana, Mozambique and Namibia Igor Bely.
"The parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral Belarusian-South African relations in a wide range of areas and highlighted the importance of furthering cooperation in trade, science and technology and developing the legal framework. At the end of the meeting, Sergei Maslyak and Igor Bely expressed commitment to implementing all the tasks set by the head of state through the joint efforts of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and the Embassy of Belarus in the Republic of South Africa," the ministry said.
In accordance with Resolution No. 160 "On the Activities of Collegial Entities" by the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of 20 March 2020 the minister of natural resources and environmental protection is the point man for Belarus’ cooperation with the Republic of South Africa.
