CIS Games in Belarus declared open

MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) - The symbolic flame of the 2nd CIS Games was lit at the opening ceremony in Minsk Arena on 5 August, BelTA has learned.

The young gymnast Aleksandra Zubovich, three-time bronze medalist of the world rhythmic gymnastics championships Anastasiia Salos and many-time champion of world and European sambo championships Yuri Rybak were honored to light the flame. Before lighting the flame, the athletes, coaches and judges of the 2nd CIS Games took the oath. The event at Minsk Arena also featured music performances and the presentation of the teams participating in the Games.
  
As BelTA reported earlier, more than 1,200 people worked were involved in the opening ceremony of the 2nd CIS Games. The included 430 dancers, 320 volunteers, and 40 performers, both novice and famous ones, 100 directing and staging specialists, about 300 representatives of the agencies organizing this sporting festival. Famous Olympic champions of different years also took part in the opening ceremony of the Games.
