United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) representative visited the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus

Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus Mr Andrei Khudyk met with UNICEF Representative Mr Rashed Mustafa Sarvar on August 8.
The meeting participants discussed the prospects for strategic cooperation in connection with the launch of the preparation of the UNICEF Country Program for the Republic of Belarus for 2021-2025.
Olga Sazonova - Head of the General Directorate for Regulation of Waste Management, Biological and Landscape Diversity, Nadezhda Zdanevich - Deputy Head of the Directorate for Regulating Effects on Atmospheric Air, Climate Change and Expertise, Larissa Lukina - Deputy Head of the General Department of Environmental Policy, International Cooperation and Science - Head of the Department of International Cooperation also took part in the meeting representing the Ministry.
The delegation from UNICEF included Victoria Lazyuk - coordinator for the development of adolescents and youth. Ms Lazyuk will act as a focal point in cooperation with the Fund.
For reference: United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) is the largest organization in the world operating under the auspices of the United Nations, which has been protecting the rights of children for more than 70 years in more than 190 countries and territories. The organization focuses on the survival, development and happy life of every child.
The cooperation of the Republic of Belarus with UNICEF is carried out on a long-term program basis. The Country Program for 2016-2020 is currently being implemented. It is based on the national priorities of the Republic of Belarus in the field of social development, healthcare and education.
The Minister expressed interest in establishing cooperation between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus with UNICEF in the field of environmental education of children and youth, and expressed readiness to work in various areas.
