Uniqueness: Is located on the boundary between the drainage basins of the Bug and Pripjat rivers. Peat soils predominate. About 74 per cent of the territory is taken by fen mires, 7.4 per cent is forest.
The Nature Reserve has been designated a wetland of international importance (a Ramsar site) and an Important Bird Area. This is a habitat of globally endangered bird species - Aquatic Warbler (one of the largest populations in Europe is found in the Nature Reserve), Greater Spotted Eagle, and Corncrake.
The swamp is the home for one of the largest Black Stork populations.
Ecotourism services: Accommodation at the Environmental and Educational Centre hotel (accommodation capacity - 7 persons), rental of bicycles, rowing and motorboats, life vests, tents, and sleeping bags, organization of fishing, trips around the Nature Reserve.
Ecological routes: Mysteries of the Plant Universe (2 km) and Zvanec Mire Treasures (2 km) nature trails.
