Uniqueness: This unique natural complex, where hills of glacial origin alternate with picturesque lakes, relict forests rich in the gifts of nature, gives way to flat plains and marshy lowlands, is called the diamond necklace of Belarus.
The nature in the Nature Reserve is exceptionally picturesque and pristine.
The core of the Nature Reserve is the group of Sorochanskie Lakes with 14 lakes forming a chain. The total area of the lakes is only 4 sq.km, but the length is about 20 km. Gulbeza and Edi lakes are exceptionally clean (water transparency is up to 4 m). The absence of oxygen in the bottom layers for most of the year causes the production of hydrogen sulphide here. This phenomenon within Belarus is typical only of Sorochanskie Lakes. The lakes are exceptionally picturesque.
The Sorochanskie Lakes Nature Reserve is home to 11 species of plants and 22 species of animals that are protected by the Red Data Book of Belarus.
Two thirds of the territory are covered with forests, dominated by pine, spruce and birch. Swamps and dry meadows account for only 15% of the territory.
Sorochanskie Lakes are a real paradise for those who like to sit with a fishing rod on the shore or “cast anchor” amidst the soft silence of the lake.
The northern part of the Nature Reserve is a border zone. Appropriate permits are required to visit it.

Ecotourism services: Rental of gazebos, use of camping sites, rental of boats, life vests. Recreation areas are equipped on the lakeshores.

Ecological routes: Two tour circuits - Proleska walking route along the shores of Kajminskoe Lake (several hours) and Wind of Poozerje route (from 3 days to 2 weeks, options include walking, cycling, going by car and kayaking).

Places of interest: Bronze Age temple near Baranskoe Lake; church in Gervjaty; house-museum of Kazimir Svayak in the village of Barani. An incredibly beautiful place is the Sviransky Stream.
