The Khoiniki section of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecological Reserve has been breeding pedigree horses since 1996. Following instructions of the head of state, a livestock farm was set up in the experimental zone of the Polesie reserve. Back then, 66 head of the Russian Heavy Draft breed were purchased. Currently the farm has 431 horses.
