Uniqueness: Richi Lake is the second deepest lake in Belarus (after Dolgoe Lake in Glubokoe District of Vitebsk Oblast). Maximum lake depth is 51.9 m, and average depth is 10.2 m.
Distinctive features of the Nature Reserve’s landscapes are a significant difference in absolute and relative heights (more than 30 m) within a limited area, considerable roughness of the territory, the presence of unique and distinctive landforms (kames, eskers) with small islands of loess, frequent and dramatic alternation of hills and ridges with basins and depressions. All this makes the territory of the Nature Reserve exceptionally attractive and pristine-looking.
Within the Nature Reserve, 16 categories of especially valuable natural objects have been identified (valuable plant and animal communities, habitats of protected species of plants and animals, etc.):

  • Richi Lake with its clear water and rare plant species;
  • five sites with rare plant species listed in the Red Data Book;
  • eight habitats of rare vertebrates;
  • two habitats of rare species of zooplankton organisms.

The territory of the Nature Reserve is part of the border zone; its boundary lies in the borderland with Latvia. For this reason, to visit the Nature Reserve one needs to obtain additional permits.
There are two large glacial boulders in the Nature Reserve designated natural monuments of national significance: Bolshoj Kamen boulder near Anisimovichi village and Chertov Kamen boulder on Richi Lake (on Kalinec Island).

Ecotourism services: Bathing, climatotherapy - aerotherapy and sunbathing, rowing boats, amateur fishing, wildlife photography, tracking wild animal tracks, snorkelling (observation of the underwater world in the natural environment). There are seven camping sites equipped with campfire pits, toilets, and containers for collecting solid waste.

Ecological routes: There are four ecological routes (cycling 30 km, cycling 12 km, walking 6 km, boat 2 km), along which 4 themed points and 3 tourist recreation areas are equipped. There is a “green route” along Richi Lake with a wooden boarding over swampland, an observation deck, wayfinding signs along the route, and a resting place along the route (gazebo).
