Uniqueness: The Nature Reserve is called the second wonder of the Loev Land. Its territory includes a combined floodplain complex between two large Sozh and Dnepr rivers with numerous oxbows, watercourses and depressions. Of special importance are sand dunes, large wooded ridges with oak forest fragments, and remnants of buried river beds (the proto-Dnepr river bed) overgrown with black alder forests.
Galatella Rossica and Nayas Major - an unusual flowering plant growing under water - were found here.
Local conditions are favourable for various semiaquatic birds, including the species listed in the Red Data Book of Belarus. The Nature Reserve was designated a globally Important Bird Area.
The fauna includes 140 bird and 35 mammal species. Sixteen species are also included in the Red Data Book - Lynx, Great and Little Bittern, Eurasian Eagle-Owl, etc. Within the boundaries of the Nature Reserve, there are many Roe Deer, Fox, Wild Boar and other wild animals.
