The Narochansky National Park was created to preserve the unique natural complexes associated with Naroch Lake, as the gold standard of natural landscapes, valuable natural complexes, genetic and biological diversity of the Belarusian Poozerje, and for their more thorough and effective use in nature conservation, scientific, educational, tourist, recreational, and health activities.

Uniqueness: The National Park measures 34 km from north to south, and 59 km from west to east.
A signature feature of the National Park is the concentration of aquatic ecosystems within its territory. In combination with the surrounding landscapes, the lake ecosystems not only make the Park visually distinctive and aesthetically attractive but also have significant recreational and balneological value.
Wetland areas are important ecosystem-forming areas, with most of them being particularly valuable natural complexes. Water bodies occupy about one-fifth of the Park and belong to the basins of the Neman and Zapadnaya Dvina rivers. Within the boundaries of the National Park, there are 43 lakes, including the largest lake in Belarus – Naroch (area 79.6 sq.km).
Forest ecosystems are no less significant. About 48 per cent of the Park's territory is covered with pine forests and birch groves. The flora is characterized by a variety of mosses, lichens, mushrooms, and algae. Regarding unique ecosystems, it is worth noting relic post-glacial meadows with a characteristic set of plant associations.
More than 1,400 species of higher plants grow here, of which 114 are listed in the Red Book of Belarus, including the most beautiful Belarusian orchid - Lady's Slipper.
The fauna is represented by 326 species of vertebrate animals: European Red Deer, Wild Boar, Moose, Roe Deer, Common Raccoon Dog, Badger, European Pine Marten, European Mink, Otter, Beaver, Muskrat, etc.
Thanks to the abundance of water bodies and marshes, 220 species of birds inhabit the area, including more than 51 species listed in the Red Data Book of Belarus: Great Bittern, Marsh Harrier, Common Crane, etc.
Approximately 35 species of fish are found in the Naroch area lakes and rivers: Pike, Roach, Perch, Bream, Carp, Ruffe, Ide, etc.

Ecotourism services: Services of the Environmental and Educational Centre, themed trips, fishing, hunting, safaris, accommodations in a hotel complex, guest houses, guest cottage, and camping ground; equipped tourist camping sites, Blue Lakes nature trail, arboretum and garden.
Specialized scientific and educational tours and uniquely designed guided trips with a botanical and environmental focus are offered now: Rare Plants Park, Journey into Nature, Magical World of Plants, hiking routes in the Blue Lakes natural complex, as well as the arboretum and garden.
