Uniqueness: Together with the Čepkeliai Nature Reserve (Republic of Lithuania), Kotra Nature Reserve forms a transboundary protected area; it also has the status of a wetland of international importance.
The Nature Reserve is a large forest and swamp complex in the upper reaches of the Kotra River. All three types of swamps are present here: raised bogs, transitional and lowland fen mires.
A distinctive feature of the Nature Reserve is the abundance and diversity of flora and fauna, pristine nature and the absence of human influence.
This is the habitat of such rare species as Black Stork, Eagle Owl, Three-Toed Woodpecker, Badger, Schrenck's Bumblebee, etc. Twelve species of plants present in this territory are listed in the Red Book. The Nature Reserve is home to such Red Book wild animals as Lynx and Badger.
In the waters of Kraskovo forest lake, an extremely rare for Belarus plant community was formed with the dominance of Pygmy Waterlily.

Ecotourism services: Organization of walks around the territory of the Nature Reserve for children, adults and organized groups; rental of bicycles and camping tents with inflatable mattresses. There are eight recreation areas where one can set up a tourist camp.

Ecological routes: Kotra Nature Reserve nature trail (2 km). Walking tourist routes (6 km, 14 km).

Places of interest: Human settlement of the Bronze and Stone ages; a unique complex of dune-hillocks on a water-glacial plain; Ogorodishche memorial complex on the site of a village burned by the German invaders.
